Tony was attracted to theatre like a moth to flame at the age of about 15 when a particularly cute redhead caught his eye in the chorus of a musical. He joined the company was ignored by the redhead and thoroughly bitten by theatre.
From 1966 to the mid eighties he worked in variety of real jobs as well as working part time as a sound and lighting guy, actor, director and occasional musician. He helped found several theatre companies in the northern suburbs of Adelaide some of which are still going.
In 1988 he went to University to study under Frank Ford, legendary father of the Adelaide Fringe. He also got involved in the attempt to keep La Mama Adelaide going after the retirement of Papa Bruno Knez.
In 1992 he graduated from Uni and the following year he and his wife Joanna Webb decided to travel to the UK where he worked as a professional Lighting Designer and Production Manager for ten years.
Returning to Australia in 2003 he settled first in Tasmania where he taught Lighting at the Salamanca Technical Theatre Course in Hobart and lit a few shows for various amateur and professional groups.
He returned home to Adelaide in 2005 and is involved in a variety of projects you will find listed on the Projects page of this site.
