Presented by Spotlight Theatre Company for the Adelaide Fringe 2010 at Jah’z Lounge.

What if you wake up the morning after your sixteenth birthday and the face in the mirror looks forty years old?  How would you feel if you found out your Dad had tried to have you euthanised?  Jane’s suddenly forty and never finished high school. What will she do tomorrow?

Twenty four years after her 16th birthday Jane wakes up from a coma and meets with a forty year old face in the mirror, a mother who looks like her grandmother and the fact that her father took legal action to have her life support turned off. The play follows Jane and her therapist through several meetings as she comes to terms with the situation. She will never go to her senior formal. She never will play Miranda, even though she finds herself in a Brave New World.

Will her mother ever let her out of her wheel chair?

Who the hell is Wes Carr, and what is Australian Idol?

And at forty, will she ever graduate from high school?

Midnight. A bus stop. 1968. Norm needs a light…or does he?

“Buzo has something real and immediate to say about Australian attitudes…” Griffen Foley, Daily Telegraph

“….a devastating examination of the basic inferiority complex of the ‘average’ Aussie…the frightening depth of Norm’s insecurity comes in a disturbing and shocking denouement, the effect of which remains long after the lights go out” Norman Kessell, Sun

A chance to examine our past, and wonder if we’ve really changed.
